HELP YOUR CHILD READ

This page has self-help videos and ideas to get you started. Individuals with reading difficulty can be helped easily through
Linda-Mood Bell Phonemic Sequencing. I utilize this program as well as neuropsycheducational techniques to address
weaknesses in reading, comprehension, ADHD, and others.

As a mother of a previously profoundly dyslexic son, I spent years educating myself through a master's degree program in elementary education with an emphasis on reading. I also home schooled my then 5 year old son due to his inability to blend two phonemes together. I bought and utilized a dozen programs to help my son. Nothing in my formal graduate education helped me to help my son. None of the programs worked either. Crying daily due to my inability to help my son, the years crept by. After years of frustration, I was in a doctoral program for clinical psychology emphasizing on neuropsychology. I was determined to find what worked. My son still could not decode words. He had "memorized" many words, but that only works for small projects. What about his life, his education, college? How would he survive?
Many parents and caregivers suffer as I did..nights of crying yourself to sleep, unable to help your child. The OT and PT evals did not FIX anything. His neuropsychoeducational evaluation finally gave us some strengths and weaknesses. We took those and designed a program which works well. My experience has been that in a group of two or more, the results dwindle to 25% effective. This seems to be due to learning differences and styles. As stimuli are presented each child processes differently, consequently, the one who did not make the leap gets left behind.
I continue to help children and adults to be "readers" and to spell and decode words. I have eye tracking and teaming
programs to enhance the eye muscles as we work. The results are individual and depend on the level of commitment to determine the length of the program. I have had people come in a couple times a week and be at grade level in three months!
